JOIN US FOR HIGH HOLIDAYS 2014 – 5775!
Or Chadash is once again happy to extend an invitation to the entire Jewish community to worship with us during the upcoming High Holy Days. Or Chadash is a Reform Jewish congregation, with members in Montgomery, Frederick, Howard and Carroll counties. The temple welcomes people of all walks of Jewish life including many interfaith families. The congregation offers an extremely wide range of activities for singles, couples without children, adults and children.
Rosh Hashanah will be observed this year beginning Wednesday evening, September 24th at 7:30 p.m. and on Thursday morning, September 25th at 10:00 a.m. Additionally, we have a catered lunch (advanced RSVPs are required), a children’s service at 8:45a.m. and a Taschlich service at 2:00 p.m.
Yom Kippur will be observed on Friday evening, October 3rd at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday morning, October 4th at 10:00 a.m. Following morning services, we will have activities for the break between services including a discussion led by the Rabbi. We will have a children’s service at 8:45 a.m. and an afternoon service beginning at 3:00 pm continuing to Yizkor and Neilah (concluding services), followed by a break-the-fast!
Rabbi Alison Kobey will be conducting services with music led by Mr. Josh Rosenberg and the Or Chadash Singers.
There is an additional fee for the Rosh Hashanah lunch which must be paid in advance. Babysitting is available free of charge and coincides with the main morning services, again we must have RSVPs in advance. There is no charge for High Holiday services for any individual who becomes a member in good standing of Or Chadash prior to the High Holidays!
